When optimizing my resume with AI, I used many different techniques to alter my perception from certain employers. I picked the industries of Aviation and Finance to alter my resume for. Initially, AI was being really nitpicky about the wordage of my bullet points under my experience. So I changed my prompt to see what overarching sections I could add to bolster my resume. I added a skills section(instead of my Honrs and Awards section) to both of my new resumes to cater to the specific industries. AI also refined my resume tone to match what employers in the industry look for.
AI can enhance clarity, structure, and relevance to the topic at hand. It demonstrates the importance of resume formats and how keyword optimization and wordage are when presenting skills or experience. It can act as a professional writing tool to help identify gaps in the human mind. Though the downside is that it relies on my limited amount of inputs to give it direction, which can be restricting when working in a creative environment.
